Do you have any idea what your alignment numbers look like? No? Fantastic, find out and post them here.

If you have stock sways and 425/350 springs there is NO WAY you should be 'fighting understeer'.

Alignment, if you don't know, then we don't know. Actually, ANY information about your set up that you want us to diagnose would be good. Any at all.

What's your current setup and alignment?

EDIT: looks like 'stain beat me to it.

But yeah, a proper alignment can make all the difference. Perhaps you've got -2° camber in the back, and 0 up front, or something equally stupid. It's hard to get a Miata to *really* understeer, at least, compared to most other cars.

And of course, what suspension hardware are you running? IOW, you got stock bars front & rear? You could always disconnect the front bar and see how that does.

ya its not that great of an alignment...but it was close to free so I didnt really argue to much. -2f and -2.8r soon as I can save a few bucks there is a race shop that specialize in doing lowered and race cars in orlando..some of you prolly know it, nix n black auto. Maybe in a week or two I will get that done..hopefully that will help a bit.

We want to help you* but you have to give us the information we need.

There are a total of ten (10) numbers you should report, not two (2).

I have no idea what your toe is, but enough of it will give you understeer.

ya I got ya oilstain...I will get back to you guys after nix n black. I know it wasnt done good enough already, but for free it really didn't bother me much, other than the understeer. actually now that I am thinking about it..I guess it would be better to change to the 250lbs spring before doing this. arg. more money....more problems.

First impressions of the Ricelands with QA 250lb 7" springs on the back and no rear sway:

Man this thing rides nice!

Coming from a stock 160k mi suspension, this thing rides very nice. No more crashing into potholes and road bumps (for some reason MD figures if there was a pot-hole, the best way to repair it is fill it in and mound it over 3 to 4 inches), funny because I can tell there is less suspension movement over the stock setup (I don't mean less travel, I mean the same bump or pot hole moves these less). I'm guessing it's a combination of stiffer springs and shocks that actually do something.

Handling feels better than stock, but that's probably because I had a dorked up alignment, and now have lots of negative camber (the back especially). Body roll is Noticeably reduced as is diving and squatting. But compared to a racing coilover setup, it's probably quite buick-like. In other words, it's too comfy to be a race car.

I'm currently waiting for the springs to settle, then I'll readjust and get an alignment

I'm going for a good dd-street ride, so I'll probably wind up at about 13" all around, right now it looks like I'm about there in the front, but 12.5 in the back I'd guess. I might lower the front to match the rear though, not sure.

No pics right now, just imagine a ragged out fugly black na with okay wheels and tires.

Overall, I'm quite happy about my ~$350 suspension set up. I don't really tend to put tons of miles on this car, but I'll update periodically.

Thanks for the update. I put the NB stock front 60.5mm bumpstops on my rears and it feels as good as it ever has (considering I still have the stock 350's on the rear still).

Once I find a dirt cheap set of 250's I'm going that way as well.

I think you need to put the old ones in the "will it blend" blender make a video, post it and that will calm us all down.
