Get a wiring diagram before you start ripping into your harness and figure out what wires your going to be removing. Makes it a lot easier.

That is a good idea that way I can semi plan out what needs to be taken out before I get there. Thanks

My thoughts exactly. I would drive it to the ground.

I traced out everything I was keeping with a green marker and everything I was going to remove with red. Thing that is the best about having the full wiring diagram is when you have a connector that hasn't been used for years you can look at the number of wires/colors and figure out wtf you are looking at.

You could add a flux capasitor and run -9's. Finish before you get off the line.

Yea I really only want to run 12"s or just under I feel this will be more than fast enough. The plan is to run somewhere around a 12.0 at 130 or 140mph so I do not have to launch the car I will make up all my time on the back half of the track. Also I do not plan on drag racing this car all the time it would just be a nice number to hit.

Trying to find traction the first 1/8 mile with be the hard part seriously we just need to mini tub the car and stick a huge tire on the back because the 225s on the car arn't cutting it.... Even the DR 275s on my own car get blown away I have to have at least two people sit in my trunk on the dyno or else its just wheel spin heaven.

I hear what you are sayin, my car is much faster 70 to 140 than it is 0-60. Plus I don't know how long a 1.8 diff would live with high hp/tq digs. But it is happy with rolls.

As far as thinning the harness goes, the airbag stuff comes right out. I wasn't able to find a good diagram so I just traced back all the wire that connected to the engine and pulled them out. It will be a little different for you since you are using a couple of sensor wires.

I think even with out launching you will make it into the 11s. making it into the 12s is easy on a miata with under 300whp if it is geared right. My last miata making 350whp broke into the 11s and that was with the shitty open diff 4.3 on a six speed.

So I finally got to my dads and yanked out the wiring harness for the engine. Now its time to start taking all the extra stuff out. I hope when I put it back in it still runs.lol Here is a pic of the harness how it sits as of right now. I will post up pics later when I am done modifying it and you guys can tell me what you think. On a side note it only take wiring in 13 wires to make a 2jz run in any car if anyone was wondering.

It takes a similar amount to run the bp if you use the same ground wire. There are a lot of extra wires run for grounds in our harnesses. Have fun stripping it down

I am off of work today so let the games begin. I will see how much work I can actually get done. I am going to try and move some things around in the harness to make them fit my car better but we will see how it goes. I see a lot of razor blades, electrical tape, and wire loom in my future

Well I cant wait to see how this goes. Thats the great thing about Miatas is that they overengineered so much extra crap in our engine bays that once you clean it out you can drop anything in it. Maybe Ill steal an engine off an Apache and drop in it.. Run 0-60 in 2 seconds...

That would be sick. The engine out of a bell helicopter or alot of turbine helicoters are suprisingly small. That would make a miata roll out.
