I still need an oil pan, intake, and throttle body. Those things look to be the most expensive parts...

They aren't as easy to come by in some parts.

Well hell, I think I might offer $200-$300. I'm helping the guy piece stuff together so, I'm sure he'd be reasonable, he seems like a good guy.

They've got whole good 1.8's around $400 here, but another $100 at a minimum for a core I wouldn't get back.

If I had a 1.8 I would run allofit after 5500 rpm on this little 1.6 till it went kaboooooom! I think it would last, I want to see if it's longer than the 5 speed, crank pulley, or oil pump.

I can come break a 5 speed for you with a lot less than all of it if you want.

 

It must break while in powaa, 4th gear as the extra boost kicks in.

I should really find a six speed first, though...

 

Mine broke while in power. 3rd gear.

 

I may have just made a deal on a complete long block for $150, if that helps you negotiate.

 

Also, here is a 1.8 and "5 speed" with a bonus gear like I bought if you want to get it all at once.

I arranged to pick mine up at a local freight company to avoid the lift gate fee.
