With two people that have a decent idea of what they're doing, how long should it take to "rebody" a Miata?

Thinking of picking up a minty rust free 91 Mariner with a blown motor for the purpose of dumping all the **** from the red car over to it.

That's if every last thing goes smoothly, right? That never happens for me.

So Easy mode would be: Strip 91 to a roller, remove engine harness with driveline. Insert 95 parts, including engine harness. Plug in current Megasquirt. Roll.

Hard/Better mode: Strip 91 to roller, acquire 6spd/3.63 and MS3X, insert 95 motor w/ new parts, build new harness. Roll hard?

Give or take 3-5 months to do it, you know, from my experience.

If I did nothing but swap all the parts...less than a couple days by myself.

I say roll hard, as you've said, you aren't in a terrible hurry!

I think it depends on work situation. If i get to work from home this winter, then i'm not in a big hurry.

If i have to still commute, this would be the winter beater, so hurry would be the name of the game. I THINK if i got both cars next to each other, i could turn things into a running and driving blue turbo car and a pile of extra parts in a weekend by myself.

Why you dont think the 2554 running ALLOFIT cant make enough torque to break 5 speeds?

The point is that i hate the FM clutch that's in the car, and if i'm separating motor from trans, i'm not putting a limpdick 5spd back on it.

I like theories. My version of ALLOFIT involves a 17-18psi spike in he midrange.

Either you want the double thick booster with the 929 master or you want the MSM abs booster and master. The 929 is 1/16th bigger in bore, but the booster is significantly more boosted.

What the hell is a double thick booster? Sounds like my Friday night with your mom.
