well - I got cold feet on the Traqmate and cancelled the order. After realizing how much I was spending, I would rather spend an extra $100 and get an IQ3 that does everything the traqmate does as a lap timer, PLUS have the potential for much, much more data acquisition and control over the car with the other integrated goodies you can get. However, I don't like the idea of spending $250/sensor! I will get the harness to jack the MS into so I can easily get some data - and a side note, the IQ3 is much more baller looking

Hmmm... I'll have to up my game with a couple more bullet holes and add some chrome
Actually, theres a couple nice track miatas flying the rising sun... hard to say, but that one looks close the the one on the left? I believe it is the same car... looking at the front red stripe clip the turn and marker lamps. Pus, if it was Dave Morris's car, then he had the paint before me

Yep - coming out of T5 at road atlanta, got onto the rumble strip like I normally do and pop she went... actually thought it popped out of gear so I just dropped it into 4th as I was gettignready too. Only realized 3rd was gone when I came into my brake zone and downshifted into 3rd - or what was left of it. Joe (Track) was with me when it happend. Also managed to break the molded CAS pin assembly off - so it was bucking like a bronco as the ecu cut on and off fuel/spark due to it shorting out. Vid to be posted at some time soon.

Well, I guess the time has come. I don't like the idea of a 6spd - would rather have the quaife, but then sure - woudn't we all? Pricey chunk of metal. I've debated a T5 or T56 swap but the gears or notchy, added weight, and the gearing seems too tall in the T5. The 1-5th gears of a T56 look nice, but it's also 50pds heavier than our 5spds and costs a pretty coin. Logically, the 6spd is the way to go with my 3.6 R&P and keeps me in the the power band - and only costs 600ish! We'll see - have a couple months to research and choose my plan.

So does one get flamed for necro-ing their own thread? thought I'd post a little update...
Last Dec I once again stripped 3rd gear from the 5spd - also broke the plastic connector 'block' on the CAS. Since then, I've installed a 6spd with about 25k of use. Also replaced the CAS. Since swapping to the 6spd, I also changed out the 3.9 R&P gear set to a 3.6 set. And since I had all that ---- out, I figured I'd also replace the bushings with some poly from ES - with zerks. And also removed the oem blown out upper and lower ball joints and tie rod ends with Moog units - the upper ball joints came from V8R. Changed all fuilds and cranked the car up - freaking water pump leaking like a ****. At least I found out about it now instead of next weekend at Road Atlanta... I had to keep the current suspension setup, as I learned (like a moron) that I was testing the shocks wrong. They're still good - just wish I had another cool 2K to blow on some ASTs... pics for posterity...
V8r upper ball joints
Yeah - I've been rocking the car out on these rails from the start...
Freakin water pump... will be getting rid of the neck with a block-off plate on the head.
Hopefully in the not-so distance future, I'll be able to show you the GT2871R I bought from a very patient board member - along with some track proven goodies coming with it
Sneak peak from it's prime:

I shoulda - but had a couple rattle cans of red engine enamel I used up. I debated on doing it at all, but they were so freakin nasty. I did sand blast them first, but yeah, hind-sight is 20/20, powder coating would have been best for a cheap as you can get them done.
