GT2871 in a V-Band setup is what I sent my check to TurboTim yesterday for. They are currently on backorder from Tial, hopefully they get them in soon.

I only went with a ChinaCharger last year to hold me over until I could afford a real garrett.

I have a super nice gt3071 if you're interested!

Why not a gt3071x? Same spool as 3071 but with 550hp capability. With a .4 AR you could spool like a T2 frame and still have more capability than 2871. AND cost is not much more

Realistically I do not need or want a 550hp upper limit. After having seen Savington's dynos with the 2871 it will be just about perfect for my goals, it has a nice low end grunt and will be able to easily get me to 350hp if I ever need that much.

I honestly will probably be tracking the car at around 200hp for a good while. I just want the headroom that the 2871 gives me over the 2860.

But but but lower AITs!!!!

On a 3-4-5 run I was only seeing 10* increases at 17psi.

BTW grats on making your car work!

I haven't pulled a data log but on the dyno I saw a 16* drop in AIT.

Cause of heatsoak...doesn't count when the starting temp isn't accurate.

My car had been running approx an hour and a half on the dyno before the first wot pull. Everything was heat soaked. Efficient IC , only 12#'s, and a better flowing head than the Mata, head is my guess for the drop in temps. Sorry for the hijack

Man way to stay with this car with all the problems you had. Good luck getting everything sorted out and running well.

Are you really following red beast build? No glass in the car??? BTW 2000lbs+350hp=2400lbs+420hp. I am going to add lightness too but I think my last steps will just be to take out the spare tire and jack and ac condensor..

Rob does live just a bit away from me, and I do head over there often. I am not going as far as him, just going to get close. I need my car to still be able to go on trips.

So I got it so my car starts and staying idling. I went to put on tires today and drop it off jackstands for the the first time since last August. I reinstall my seats and get in. I start the car and push in the clutch to go into first gear. It will not engage even with the clutch at the floor. FML. It also started raining again about this time so no adjusting the clutch rod length. I guess I will do that tomorrow when it is nice out and then try to actually drive the car.

On a downside I think my rear main seal is leaking and I will probably be pulling the transmission Saturday to change it out.

That is my new tool that I got in today. Basically it is the end of the drive shaft, you stick it in the end and you can pull out the trans without having to drain the trans fluid.

I'm pissed I threw out my 1.6 driveshaft, I could've used it for the same reason a couple of times.
