without proper ducting for that hole, how in the world are you expecting to "figure it out" at the track?

this thread is starting to fail

This is still a work-in-progress build, as Dann stated" "I intend to take a sawzall to the track and cut the splitter down until front/rear downforce bias is neutral."

ie. Why waste too much time on the finishing if it's nowhere near finished?

He had to get it home as the reason for the rough cut.

what do you guys consider proper ducting? It's got the three vents in the hood, is that insufficient?

not being defensive, just reading with interest curious to learn.

Look- I don't want to have to retread my posts for you- but I told the OP that I missed the pics showing any hole at all-
I thought he was running with nothing cut in.

As for me being bright? Not really on topic here- so you can try to flex your Internet muscles via pm if you really are that much of a loser. Maybe you should put that front bumper on your street miata? It would look sweet.

My god, you post some pics and everyone forgets what reading is.

To answer Turbofan, they mean what i have quoted myself reffering to, that is an aluminium box duct in front of the radiator to funnel the radiator intake hole to the radiator.

Also this build is a fully registered road driven street car.

Unless you have extraordinarily hard springs and will be on a track with no curbs, that splitter scares me for hitting the ground at that ride height. Other than that, it looks useful.

Maybe you suck at relaying information....?
Also my comment stands: without that "mouth" being sealed off and shrouded to the heat exchangers, you'll test exactly what at the track?

shrouding=/=ducting

putting a bunch of holes in a bunch of places is nowhere near as effective as having properly guided airflow that increases velocity as it travels to and through the heat exchangers.

Good luck with whatever it is you're trying to accomplish with the aero.

Omg 18. Stop. Go back and read.

I even quoted you and me to show I'm doing ducting like that...

I gotcha now. I'm a little more hesitant to show my prototypes I guess. My finished products are probably somewhere between your prototypes and your finished parts, so I have no room to talk. Keep it up, post some dyno figures too!
