Same as Y8s I have never had an issue with my miata in DC. I would leave my car unlocked any time I was in DC. I would just throw my ipod in the trunk.

That comment was actually meant as a jab towards Scott (who lives in the DC suburbs) however he apparently either failed to notice it or failed to be insulted by it.

I fale.

I actually had a huge anti-theft thread on CR that I wrote. Pretty much covered all the bases for anti theft and figured any security is better than none. And the best possible security would just be good insurance.

Had 2 members ask me if they could write some term paper citing my thread... pretty flattered

I know! Right? Why am I attracted to this car?

Honestly, though, I'm a little turned off by the price. I want it for $800, not $1400.

That's a given. $1400 is way too much, but he's probably padding it a little for room to deal. For those miles and the 4 banger, $900 is about the max.

Oh, and 2500 mile oil changes? LIAR! (or idiot, take your pick).

Once you climb out and lock the door on the inside, you hold the door latch open on the outside when you close it and it will remain locked. Most Japanese and some European cars have always worked this way (since 1960s at least).

Huh....8 years of owning this damn thing and I still learn new things like this. Thanks for the tip. I guess the upside to not knowing this is that I've never locked my keys in my miata. In fact, I think I've only locked my keys in my truck once because I'm conditioned to using the key to lock the doors.

Wonder how long that will stick, now that I know the truth.

I moved away from the homeless people. Even still, I felt safe parking my car where I did, and y8s had his civic stole from said spot once.

I don't do bad areas. I thumb my nose at bad areas and I bite my thumb at you, sir.

First off, you moved so far from DC you practically in WV now.

Second, we were talking miatas, not civics. Civics are always on the top 10 stolen car lists. That civic has indeed been broken into by a homeless and change stolen from it after he ate his lunch.

It was also stolen from the nice virginia suburbs in which I live and driven and abandoned in an even NICER neighborhood where the thieves proceeded to jack up the car with large rocks and remove the wheels which were held on by splinedrive lugnuts. Note that I will never again buy those since apparently the splines are not actually keyed to anything but every other splinedrive lugnut ever forged.

Anyway insurance paid up. That poor car is so abused. People in small SUVs love to back into it. First time, I honked in plenty of time and even yelled obscenities. I felt bad when the deaf driver got out and shrugged at me.

Second time a woman flat out lied and said I drove into her. In reality, she was backing up to parallel park as I pulled aside and stopped for an emergency vehicle.

Oh well. cheap cars is cheap.

Someone backed into my altima in that spot, about one month after moving in. I had replaced the rear bumper cover maybe 1 month prior to that.

that was sad.

I just bondoed it back together the other day actually.

I can take pics.

It's funny that you mention this.

I was at Harbor Freight just yesterday, and while standing in line at the checkout, I happened to notice that they had metric spline-drive socket sets hanging right next to me:

7 Piece 3/8" Metric Spline Socket Set

Also available in 1/2" drive: 7 Piece 1/2" Metric Spline Socket Set

And now, some good news:

Ophthonix, Inc has finally gone out of business!

first 900 dollars and personal pickup gets my 94 miata and miata related BS for parts or whatever. Comes with hardtop. Not running atm, ran before I started to tear apart the head believing I was going to replace the valve seals. Good compression, just needs the seals done. I have the seals. Just way too busy. Some turbo bits, but was N/A after last partout with performance header.

Need to pay stuffs like medicals. ******* medicals.

I refuse to be miataless for more than a year though. However if this gets out of my sight I can finish my supra as well and get a 5 speed miata finally.

Will make sale post eventually.

You have a 1 in 4 chance, initially, so 25%. Since both A and D are correct, you odds become 50%, assuming you have picked A or D. The problem is, by picking A or D, your odds cannot be 25% as the answers are the same. And you can't pick B, because that is only true if you already chose A or D. So, this eliminates B, as it is only correct if you already chose another answer. C is the only answer that does not rule itself out, not that I'm saying that is correct.

question is paradoxical..

With the given options, it has no right answer.. although only a wrong answer is present and can be solid.

I just sent this out to so many people at work.. they went full retard and full blown getting into fights.. I'm sitting back watching the retarded madness.... hahaha

people r dum
