Five bucks, though? Damn. I guess maybe that's sort of fairish, inflation-wise. I just remember it being so cheap that it was laughable when we used to go there. Now that I think about it, it has been twelve years since I graduated... Only shitty thing is my friend got a parking citation 10 minutes before 4:00 by a 400 pounder. I just mowed my grass, then washed and clayed/waxed all the cars and jogged them around the block to clean off the rotors. That's some fookin work, man.
I'm running on about 9 hours of sleep in the past 3 days too. It's so nice out I want to go ride the bike but damn, I just can't do it. Gonna go pass out for a bit. Here's to hating naps because I wake up grumpy... cheers. |

Fuck South Carolina. That is the shittiest state I have ever driven through. Absolutely nothing to see or do but trees. Drove right at 1000 miles today since 5 this morning and just got in about 10:30. Worst drive ever.

Today I drove a vitage mini to its limits, extremely crossed up, then proceeded to drink heavily. Life is good

Relocating your wastegate boost source to a post intercooler location is FTW. Finally got around to doing it on my greddy setup, fixed all boost spike/drop issues. 12psi SOLID to redline. Mmmmmmm.

I'm watching European sports car racing on Bloomberg TV right now. I find this a little weird. But then again the kind of people who watch business and financial news can afford these Ferraris and Aston Martins.
"Look at that R8 go! Obama, predatory lending what?" |
Should I buy a 5th car? Green '99 Protege 5sp 210k miles, pw, pl, keyless, probably some other options. Really clean car inside and out. $999. Kinda want to say, "Hell, its $1,000, why not?" If nothing else, at that price, if it runs, stops, turns, and doesn't do so while falling apart, I don't see why it would be a bad thing to have a spare of a spare of a spare.... of a spare. Maybe I don't need 5 cars. But what if I lose an engine in one, trans in the other, clutch in the other, and wreck one? Then I'd need it!! |
Doooo it. Until last week I had 4 cars. Down to 3, but if I found something nice for 500-1000 can't say I wouldn't pick it up.
|
I'm interested in it because its 5sp. Both of my saturn DD's are auto's. While my DOHC gets 45(ish)mpg on the highway after my mods, if it were a 5sp I'd get 50's. My SL1 is the spare, taking up space in the garage where the Z28 should be. If I modded it I'd probably see 50's but i'm not sure if I want to or not yet.
It would be nice to hypermile a little Protege when I go to visit the parents in Cleveland. IDK if its the 1.6 liter or the 1.8 yet. Green though? Never owned a green car. EDIT: Cock and balls. I was just there looking at it yesterday, called just now to find out more info and it sold last night. |
Here is another good reason I hate living in the Southeast. I'm tired of being around a bunch of ignorant rednecks. Maybe some of you have seen some of Tim James' campaign commercials, since they made it into national news. Here is a good spoof of him. This pretty much sums up why I hate the Southeast, because I could easily see this being in a campaign and the guy getting voted in based on it. Tim James actually made me change my stand on non English languages on forms, and other things, when I heard how ignorant it sounded coming out of someone else's mouth.
On top of that, I'm tired of the bible beating here. Whoever is most Christian and loves Jesus enough wins. Another campaign smear ad said something about how a candidate didn't take every word of the bible as truth, and he ACTUALLY was for teaching evolution in the classroom... Yay, the Southeast where we get left behind, look ignorant and try to remain in the past, scared of advancements. |
Fuck you, Medusa! Damn snakey-headed bitch!

Southeastern Redneck Chiming In Here...
Tax dollars didn't pay for "Don's Ristoraunte" sign or menu. While the video is witty and clever, it draws on an age old stereotype of people in the southeast. Well, we aren't all haters. I would rather see bilingual employees at the state/county/city/town levels to assist non-english speakers, where an investment in people is always a plus, and leave the trees standing and the printing companies out of the taxpayers pockets, as we throw thousands of non-english forms away anually. |

Dear god, I would have to have a serious fucking talk with this asshat afterwards. Not only does he nearly wreck you, but then he slows you down pretty much the entire time on the track. I would be yelling my voice away the whole day.

Stereotypes don't make themselves. The majority of people in the southeast think this way, at least ones in my area, so maybe I'm not reading your post correctly, because it sounds like you are saying otherwise. Many may not be bold enough to come out and say it, but many think it, and elect people like this douche to speak for them.
"Get outta hur foreigner! This is Amerikuh! We speak English round hur! DURRRR! Rabble rabble rabble" :giggle: Some of us are working to change this paradigm. |
I was just sitting here trying to think of something clever to put in this thread but I got nothing. Does this make me less of a man and if so is anyone willing to come over and make me feel like a man again?
Nudge, nudge, you know what I mean, say no more. |

I'd take my spec Miata and "bump" into that asshole somewhere he was braking early or something....sait it was unavoidable. Fix the Miata for $200 and laugh at Capitan Cockfact having to fix $12,000 worth of damage to his car. (I love P-cars.....but I hate the 'vert versions of the 911...they can all burn) |

It's a common understanding that most Porsche owners have no clue how to drive. As this cideo shows. They have a bad ass car and think it makes them a good driver.

Pentagon Confirms It Sought To Build A 'Gay Bomb'
BERKELEY, Calif. (CBS) ― The Pentagon told CBS station KPIX-TV that the proposal to build a so-called gay bomb was made by the Air Force in 1994. (File) AP Close numSlides of totalImages A Berkeley watchdog organization that tracks military spending said it uncovered a strange U.S. military proposal to create a hormone bomb that could purportedly turn enemy soldiers into homosexuals and make them more interested in sex than fighting. Pentagon officials on Friday confirmed to CBS station KPIX-TV in San Francisco that military leaders had considered, and then subsequently rejected, building the so-called gay bomb. Edward Hammond, of Berkeley's Sunshine Project, had used the Freedom of Information Act to obtain a copy of the proposal from the Air Force's Wright Laboratory in Dayton, Ohio. As part of a military effort to develop non-lethal weapons, the proposal suggested, "One distasteful but completely non-lethal example would be strong aphrodisiacs, especially if the chemical also caused homosexual behavior." The documents show the Air Force lab asked for $7.5 million to develop such a chemical weapon. "The Ohio Air Force lab proposed that a bomb be developed that contained a chemical that would cause enemy soldiers to become gay, and to have their units break down because all their soldiers became irresistibly attractive to one another," Hammond said after reviewing the documents. "The notion was that a chemical that would probably be pleasant in the human body in low quantities could be identified, and by virtue of either breathing or having their skin exposed to this chemical, the notion was that soldiers would become gay," explained Hammond. The Pentagon told KPIX-TV that the proposal was made by the Air Force in 1994. "The Department of Defense is committed to identifying, researching and developing non-lethal weapons that will support our men and women in uniform," said a DOD spokesperson, who indicated that the "gay bomb" idea was quickly dismissed. However, Hammond said the government records he obtained suggest the military gave the plan much stronger consideration than it has acknowledged. "The truth of the matter is it would have never come to my attention if it was dismissed at the time it was proposed," he said. "In fact, the Pentagon has used it repeatedly and subsequently in an effort to promote non-lethal weapons, and in fact they submitted it to the highest scientific review body in the country for them to consider." Military officials insisted Friday to KPIX-TV that they are not currently working on any such idea and that the past plan was abandoned. Gay community leaders in California said Friday that they found the notion of a "gay bomb" both offensive and almost laughable at the same time. "Throughout history we have had so many brave men and women who are gay and lesbian serving the military with distinction," said Geoff Kors of Equality California. "So, it's just offensive that they think by turning people gay that the other military would be incapable of doing their job. And its absurd because there's so much medical data that shows that sexual orientation is immutable and cannot be changed." (© 2007 CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved. Instead they used the gay bomb on potential Mazda Miata buyers.

Panera cafe says pay what you want
Bakery hopes to expand nonprofit restaurants around U.S. CLAYTON, Mo. - Panera Bread Co. is asking customers at a new restaurant to pay what they want. The national bakery and restaurant chain launched a new nonprofit store here this week that has the same menu as its other 1,400 locations. But the prices are a little different — there aren't any. Customers are told to donate what they want for a meal, whether it's the full suggested price, a penny or $100. The new store in the upscale St. Louis suburb of Clayton is the first of what will Panera hopes will be many around the country. Ronald Shaich, Panera's CEO until last week, was on hand at the new bakery Monday to explain the system to customers. ... |
Hmm interesting. I wonder how long one of this would last in the middle of any ghetto.
|
it wont last. and once the well dries up, people will ask for gov't to help keep it running.
|
It would work it there weren't so many thieves out there. 98% of people will probably be fair, the other 2% will fuck it up. Would be nice if we could be under that kind of system. Same for taxes.....
|
Hasnt that been happening for some time now?
