Flippy's car runs fine.
scope your ignition output. you have a car that's not available here.

Ben or Braineack,
Any ideas on my problem? Could it be a ground or my wiring? When I switch back to the plug wires it runs just fine and the idle is nice and smooth.

I'm going to go ahead and try to wire mine up in the next few weeks. I'll let you all know the results.

it should work with the stock ecu if you follow the diagram.

but:
the brown wire splits for the 2 & 3 trigger; brown/yellow splits for the 1 & 4 trigger
black is a shared ground
blue is the 12v source
yellow/blue is the tach output, you need to attach the black/white to this lead for a 1v source to power the signal.

that's it.

did you get that from a good wiring diagram? I thought I remembered on Dan's car brown/yellow was the 2-3 coil trigger and brown was 1-2. Might be mistaken.

it's that way all the way to 2005...dunno why after the first 3 years they'd swap it. I used the same.

when i was building the MSs I was reversing the output inside the CPU itself, so on the harness it will look different.

Again, that was from MEMORY. I wasn't looking at his car when I wrote that, as I'm not looking at it now. I just thought I remembered the yellow stripe coil was the dead one.

Not all of us can be cool like you with 4 triggers.

Well, I checked grounds and wire harness three times last night and it was perfect. Stupid me finally decided to check the coils and the number 3 coil wasn't firing. So just to check the harness and coil I swapped it with the number 1 and it still wasn't firing. I guess I got a bad coil and will have to go searching again. Thanks for all your help guys.

For auctions on ebay like that, I see no problem with a post here stating your intention to bid and your max price. That way we don't bid against each other.

Next step is finding spades for the ignitor side.
Thanks for the tip!

FWIW: the Emanage pins are the same as the stock ECU pins (That's how I made my EMB semi PNP)

I know, but it's tough to stay on top of it all... The technological break throughs that keep occuring on this forum are too fast for old guys like me...

This has to be one of the longest threads on this forum?
