If I bought up this intake, I wouldn't have to cut my glorious FM hood. Steve@Powercurve and I have an arangement worked out in trade, so I could get it on the dyno quickly.
Not yet. I have three out there that should see results in a few weeks. The previous version only saw benefits at the top RPM range. So I do not know about the low end stuff. We will have to see.

I don't particularly remember your build thread, but I'd look to the head for better gains in spool. The IM should (hopefully) solve the top end drop off seen with the stocker. I wouldn't know though, its 25 degrees here so my manifold isn't on yet

You

And to further show that lack of drop off... my 1.6l with a custom IM.

those rpm #'s are not accurate. It hitting max torque at 4krpm, and 15psi there too. I know it could be better, but I think it may be fast enough. Its "orange gt3rs-fast" on a highway roll in 3rd to redline in 5th. Once I get the new suspension on...it will hopefully "orange gt3rs-corner" too. I've heard that long-runner intakes help add torque down low, but then I look at that dyno and think that I can add more power and torque, but what about the additional heat and stress on the drivetrain.

I don't really know that I want to drive this car at its current power level on the track. You can ask anyone who's ridden, driven, or seen it...this car moves.

did the turbo spool-up any quicker? The ugly dyno could be my inferior tuning skills too. Why did I let it go that fat at 6500+ rpm again? I have more time on the dyno soon, maybe I'll jack with it then. I want to try a few things I've learned recently, and do a few loaded runs out of boost to perfect a few problem areas.

...nothing like trading parts for dyno time!

that's your same turbo on a 1.6L (.86 A/R and all), with a chewed up turbine blade no less.

I've moved this to the appropriate thread. I really want to track my progress and thinking there for the next guy who does this.

now, back to the intake plenum discussion.

The Intake Manifold for a stock NB is off today. The end user will install and test it shortly!

To my knowledge, two are being installed now. One is installed and one is waiting for warmer weather. I will let you know as soon as I do. Promise.

Steph, do you think it's possible to do something for my 99 that won't give me a CEL? You know the car; 99 S4.

I don't know right now. Corky is complaining about making it EGR compatible, but I think he will on the production version. The test piece will not have an EGR on it. So unless some other strange code comes up, it might work.

Might want to upgrade those zipties holding your throttle cable bracket on first.
