So the 2jz miata is a F****ing beast on 12psi but as Slow_Sc3 says it breaks up over that I need bigger injectors so judging by that it should be making closer to 450whp.
Here is the link to the fly by at the house sorry its at night again. When we drove it it was braking loose in 4th HELLS YEA!!!!
the first one is of the flames and flapper, the second one is the 2j miata laying down some boost!!!

Yea it still needs a tune we went out and did some street tuning to see what it could do but after a short drive we found that my 440cc injectors were maxing out when the car was only at 9lbs. of boost problem with that is that when it goes over 9 lbs. it breaks up really bad and pops so I need to get some bigger injectors. I got 4 RC 750cc injectors from a friend but I need to source 2 more. As soon as this happens we can make some better vids. At some point Faeflyper is going to post his ride along vid he has from this weekend. The scary part about running out of injectors is that it is a know fact for the most part that a supra will make 400 whp on 440cc's so I am kinda afraid that I need more.

Some road pulls. Having gone for a ride in this car, I have to say that out of boost, the car is pretty quick- it feels like my setup when it was at 8psi and around 200hp. When boost hits though for the brief time before running out of fuel, it is ******* insane. The dyno should look very very good. The hankook ventus tires on there now obviously don't hook that great in 30degree weather in 1st and 2nd but third there is some traction-- before boost that is.
Going around the back roads, the car handles quite well. Sean was not pushing it too much because of the ahem occasional snow on the road but it felt like a Miata- good. Personally I think that the car will probably be a lot of fun to drive- the pleasure of boost plus solid low end courtesy of displacement. The driveline is obviously very solid with the solid mounts and it also shifted very positively.

so if you don't mind me asking, approximately what kinda price figure are you working with for this swap and everything you've done so far?
I have easy access to toyota powerplants and though I've never considered this swap before I just might.
depending on how much cheaper it is than a v8

It this swap being very thrifty and not sending anything out that I did not have to I only have $3200 in it and then you have to discount the $1000 or so in parts I sold out of the car. So really I have $2200 bucks in it. With the possibilities of hitting 400-500whp with minimal modifications to the set up I think it far trumps any ls swap. Now I know there is pro's and con's but for $'s vs. hp this is the way to go.

A video of idle at a gas station. Some other guy at the station took a realllll long look at the car as he walked by haha
BTW I think this car is a great candidate for the Grassroots Motorsports $2011 or $2012 challenge. Basically build a autocross, drag, track capable car for $2011 dollars. There are a few other cars on this forum who have done it, and one of the guys placed 4th or 5th which is very high because the competition is tough.

Just to be safe I'll assume 5-6k for the swap.
Still a ton cheaper than a LS swap.
not bad at all.
A friend of mine just picked up a 2jz-ge for 300 bux, mk3 5sp for 150 and 2jz bellhousing for 300. So I'm thinking 1k-1200 for the engine/trans/driveshaft/diff/axles sounds more or less in the range?
Id want to run an ffim though.
What decent engine management systems are there out there for this type of setup?
I will NEVER use an safc, so that's out the window.
Anything comparable to ms?

Adaptronic has plug and play and is fully sequential on the 2jz-GTE motor. Insert motor/parts, clip Adaptronic on to end of loom. Walah. Full standalone with traction control/launch control/bbg all the goods for just about 1450 more.

Leatherface - the only time I had a problem with fumes including my passenger is when it is idleing in the garage it will make you cry.lol
18psi. - There is a ton of options out there for PNP units MAPecu, AEM, Haltech and some others I am trying to go AEM just for the ease of use in the supra world. Anyone you talk to that has a modified supra will most likely tell you they are running AEM. You can get a pnp used for $400 - $500 and new for $1000 if you look around. MAPecu is good but is limited on what you can do. Tell your freind to PM Slow_Sc3 or me and I will get you in touch with him. He knows just about everything you could want to know about swapping MK2/MK3/MK4 supras and SC300's/400's. Just like in the miata world where Megasuirt dominates AEM is for supra's it part "I have a supra I need expensive name brand things" part they were the first to really make a good pnp for the supra so I would go AEM unless he can find someone who is willing to tune something different.

You are friggen awesome.
I'll tell my friend to contact you guys for help. He's one of those people that rarely gets online, so he doesn't know all the tips/tricks/info you guys have up your sleeve.
Keeps asking me for suggestions but I'm really not a supra guy so I know very little.
If you know anyone selling an AEM for under 600 I'm sure he'll buy it RIGHT NOW lol.
ps: have you heard of STINGR ECU?
Its supposedly an EMS that works fairly decent too. Any input on that?
