I got a good buddy discount from the old school hook up connection. Turn around time was one day and the cost was $250 to check block for line bore straightness, check top deck, and cylinder hone, check crank for straightness, balance crank, rods and pistons. Of course my tip was generous for such a deal.

I assembled the head and cleaned the block gasket surfaces and bearing journals last night. I'm not using that old Kodak anymore. Now that this camera is not acting up as much, I took some more pics.

This evening I prepped the oil pan for the drain fitting and assembled the pistons and rods.

Today the drain fitting was welded. I installed the ARP studs for the mains and heads. I also installed the rods and pistons. The whole assembly rotates smoothly.

I thought the consensus was that it's safest to weld a NPT bung to the pan, internal threads are harder to damage.

Today was a good day... I also made a keychain. Thanks to Dem768 for the idea.

I'll drop it in tomorrow and fire it up.

Is on that list install a turbo? You seem to be missing it in those pictures. Also why did you not have turbo and downpipe on when you put in engine. It makes it go much easier.
