The only people this effects are those of us running the quick clip things... that don't come with the calipers by default. Doubtful Carbotech will do anything about it, and it only takes a second to

I notched the pads like Lokiel and the clips are happy. The AWR mounts arrived, so I slapped those puppies on.
Here they are right out of the box and arrived in time for the next event. Thank you Emilio@949Racing!

I was able to install them without any problems.
Great fitment. Here's is a pic of the passenger side mount installed.

I fired it up and I could hear creaking everywhere, LOL! I pretty much expected it, so all is well. One way to explain the difference in NVH is that the added vibration makes you feel more connected to the car. More so than from going to PS to no PS in the way that the steering wheel kicks back when hitting bumps.

Drive the car, report back, get props.
No, fro serio. I've got a set of MazdaComp mounts in the garage but I've been really tempted to get a set of these and run them instead. Maybe I'll wait for Miatas@MRLS and see if I can get a ride with someone who has them. I'm worried I'm not manly enough to not complain about the NVH

I'm liking it so far. The harshest vibration is at idle and it smooths out while driving. The mounts still need to be broken in, so they should be softer after a while. These should go great with the poly diff mounts.
Those mounts are pretty sweet. I have them on my car too, although I did get the stiffest one they have (I think 95) and was warned numerous times that it will shake the crap out of the car. I think he missed the point that it is a race car only!
Cars looking great btw!

Thanks! So far, I'm liking it. I took it out for another drive today and it felt a bit smoother than the first drive. This weekend is the next race event at ASR, so I'll definitely get a track impression for them as well as the new Wilwood BBK.
I have the Wilwood prop valve set to 5 turns in from softest position. What settings are others using?
BTW, I just got a new Hero 3 Black Edition, so vids will be much easier to make as well as look better (hopefully).
I got it weighed this weekend It ended up being 2447 with hardtop, stock passenger seat, spare tire and jack. Since I'm underweight for my class, I've decided to make it lighter and run "all of it".

Thanks!
I took it out again and either I'm getting used to the new mounts or they are getting more mellow or both.
It sounds different since I made the new intercooler pipe. It has more of a whoosh sound to it when I put my foot into it. It definitely feeds the urge to step on it more.

I have to say, this thread along with a couple changes in my life have prompted me to once again start pouring money into my pit known as the Miata. Thanks again for some motivation, though I likely won't be seeing 320whp from 12psi anytime in the distant future...

Thanks! The car has been great. I shaved 2 seconds from my best time since I installed the new engine mounts, the BBK and brake prop valve. I'm now lapping ASR with a time of 1:16.6. I've been DDing it these days. Too much fun. So far, so good.
Next tasks are (Not in order.):
- Enable EBC.
- Enable sequential ignition.
- New gauge panel. - Done.
- Install oil temp gauge and relocate boost and AFR gauge on new panel.
- Install 6-speed.
- Differential poly bushings.
- Suspension poly bushings.

I finally got around to installing the gauge panel and gauges. The panel has a VDO oil temp gauge on the left, the Innovate MTX-L AFR gauge in the center and a VDO boost gauge on the right. The gauge lights are wired into the dash wiring and also use the dimmer.
I made a wiring harness for the gauge lights and connected it to the E and F
pins on the radio connector. Radio connector pin info is here: Miata Audio Pinouts
Blurry pic (FML) of how I tapped the gauge light harness onto the radio connector.

A shot of the gauges on the panel with the wiring and at the bottom on top of the shift boot shows how I tapped into the console connector for IGN ON for switched 12v and the GND wire for the oil temp gauge.

Assembled console shots.

Hopefully, I'll install the 6 speed this weekend.

Thanks for the comments! I figured the heat shield will prolong the life of my AC. I'm happy with the mounts. The vibration has mellowed out since they were installed. I hope I don't have to pull the engine again, but I can see that the mounts can make it easier to remove the engine because the mounts can be separated by removing the bushing bolts.

I installed the 6 speed today. After the hassle with that clutch line, I'm also going to install a braided Teflon line that replaces the clutch hard line. What a pain in the ***!
One cool thing about the AWR mounts is that they support the motor when the transmission is removed. The ARTech exhaust was also nice to work around. I removed the midpipe and removed the V-band at the turbo and the tilted the downpipe and it was out of the way without pulling it from the car.
Pics...
I raised the car on jackstands and used a transmission jack.

Pulled the 5 speed and the 6 speed went in the same way.

Time to update this thread.
The six speed has been great! I also got a weighted shift ****. It's more comfortable than the factory shift ****.

The car has been running well with the new tune and MSLabs ECU. EBC seems to be working without any issues with the basic EBC settings from Leonid (Soviet). I still have to log boost to verify it. Now it time to turn up the boost.
I swapped out the Forge wastegate green (5-15 PSI) spring to the yellow(15-23 PSI) one. I also put fresh grease when assembled the actuator.

I plan to go to the dyno again after this weekend's race. This time I want to put it on the tuner's Dynojet.

I am planning on getting one from them as well.
