What is that? And what rubber hose are you using? The GM one rides low enough that it's not a problem...

The more I read the more I realize that a swirl pot changes a lot of things in my set-up, a bleed valve is the right answer for now.

Try the bleed valve. Is there a pipe you can do it on that can be easily replaced? You can always put a plug in there if it doesn't work. My worry with that would be reliability. How many times can you push that button before the o-ring gives out.

argument for valve: o-ring is easily replaceable
devil's advocate: but it's exposed to higher than normal temps when racing

What about a 1/8 brass plug or a 1/8--4 aircraft fitting adapter can cap?

Don't take me back there, I couldn't bear to live it anymore. Speaking of bears, how is your pappa bear?

I don't remember, lol. 83.5 seems to ring a bell. I went one step over stock I think. I know it's 8.6:1 static comp.

Otherwise run to Napa, Red Rooster, Oreillys, etc...and run a bleeder screw like a brake system pointed anywhere from 9 oclock to 3 oclock. Should work pretty well that way.

Could just splice a metal tube into your rubber hose and thread it into there. Granted it will include having two more clamped sections in the hose.

How will it seal? I guess I don't understand what you're suggesting.

2nd'd. 'magic funnel' ftw. It seals to the radiator so that it becomes the highest point in the system. hook up to radiator. run car till thermostat opens, blip throttle, etc. gets all da bubbles out, works on almost any radiator/car out there. I have several mechanic friends that use them on a daily basis.

I'm going to go look for that long, yellow pipe thing Lars posted and then fill it with water and go for a drive.

Ok, there is some weird going on. When I turn the key to run, the tach bounces around from 2000-4000 and the spark plugs fire constantly. Then when I crank the car, the tach is dead and I get no spark. WTF?
