OK. I wouldn't mind banjo to barb, if the barb were 11mm 8mm, but they all seem to be 12mm. Maybe I could find a hose that would fit both ends (mixing manifold on the other end), but seems compromised.

No way would a hose fit on both ends.

Thanks

Right, I should have been more specific. I meant something that resembles the OEM Subie with the curved section. Something 90 degree that ends up directing the barbs similar to what you have done.

The FM kit seems to use the simple ones.

Are you planning to use heat sleeve on your lines?

I'll find something to do what I want, but it may not be a piece of cake.

I may get a replacement from Sturovo of what I have now, but route it in such a manner that I don't mess it up.

they do also have a bunch that go from banjo to braided line, to barb. KINUGAWA TURBO Online Shopping Cart - Turbo Water line / Hose kit

How small of a damn water line are you trying to run? 12mm OD 9mm ID that hose eblows are setupfor is pretty normal. Thats normal 3/8" ID lines that like everyone else uses.

my bad, yea, i dont think ive seen a banjo with a bend in it at 8mm/5/16"

ill run heat sleeve where i have to. i was hoping to route it in such a way to where i wouldnt, but thats not likely to happen.

5/16"/8mm because thats the line size provided by the miata. 3/8" is technically too large for the nipple by the stock thermo housing, but im sure they work fine for most with a worm clamp.

Mixing Manifold nipple and the T/S extension are 8mm.

Short term I think I'll get a barbed Banjo and repair what I have. Then when I do the coolant re-route, run AN line, 4 or 6, to the spacer.

Because the steel pipe is 12mm OD, 9mm ID, not the proposed mating hose.

Sure, strech 1mm or 12%, but not 50%.

Well its certainly not for 1/2" ID hose. I mean I've got them on the subaru (not these exact ones but the OEM ones that they're supposed to replace), its 3/8. No turbo this size is going to use ******* 1/2" ID hose for coolant.

Holy ****. 12mm is 1/2 when you're talking about hard metric. Does it make sense now? That barb is designed for 9mm ******* ID hose which has a 12mm OD. This is also know as 3/8" ID hose with a 1/2" OD. Aka most turbo coolant lines ever. The non bubble part of that damn adapter I linked is 9mm. Which means if you try really hard you can get 8mm aka 5/16th ID hose on the things.

Thanks, Sean. I ordered a 12mm banjo -> 8mm barb from... Flyin Miata! Garrett is 14mm, but they have both available. $16.80 delivered with washers, over 1/3 of which is shipping. That's what happens when one only needs a single, small part.

And yes, your picture well shows the difference between what comes on the TD04, and what we need to mate with Miata.

you were saying...

also id like to know where you get your 0.060" wall thickness hose from. sounds like some good ****.

and for good measure: 1/2" is more often associated with, and is closer to, 13mm, not 12.
