96db at what distance? 75ft or 50ft? 96db at 75 is pretty damn loud, at 50ft its about the same as the 90@75 sound limit we have up here, which isnt easy to hit, but its not soul crushing.

Not sure, and I was wrong, its 94. The one time mike took the car there, they didnt even test it because it was stock at the time and I cant find that info anywhere on thier site. I was assuming it was at 1 meter for some reason.

Maybe Aaron knows? AMP

Test? Like they dont have some dude sitting at some point on track with a sound meter? Is this like 96db at some short distance free reving to a certain rpm? Thats super easy to pass.

Yes, test.
SOUND INFO | Arizona Motorsports Park

You can pay $50 and test before you register for a track event so you dont throw away $200.

And yes, they also have the back straight constantly monitored. If you exceed it, you get a "reduce throttle" warning, after that, they pull you off. Its fukin BS. This is what happens when you build houses next to a racetrack and airforce base and lawyers and HOAs and such. People are so stupid.

Simple solution for this actually. Get a 90 degree elbow and clamp it on facing the opposite direction from the sound meter. Spec Miata/e30 guys do it lol.

Im really happy with the way this came out:

With the WG tube separate, using either a slip joint or 2nd v band, I can install the DP from the bottom with the turbo installed. Or I can install the whole thing in one piece from the top with the turbo removed. So im gonna weld that bitch up in one piece as the flex joint is my current "test slip joint".

Trans clearance

Clean WG merge, 3" sexed vbands ftw(theres more clearance between the tranny tunnel than the pic shows, the upper band was rotated a little)

Needs heat shield

Steering shaft, block, etc. clearance

Had to remove this stupid thing

So that's why I have such problems, why did I never hear to cut this tab off, grr.

I quit rattling against the steering shaft when I made a trans mounted exhaust brace, at least. Bet I could have made a straighter shot out the bay with that tab gone though.

Are you going to make a brace? Seems you'll have plenty of room

Get a 6 speed. Then no tab

If I understood correctly you are going to make it so you have to pull the turbo to pull the downpipe? Or are you going to add the 2nd v-band.

Definitely make the downpipe removable. For pulling the transmission and whatnot

I think he's saying he'll be forced to put it in from the bottom if the turbo is installed, but if he's putting it all together he can just drop the downpipe in and lay the turbo on top of it, more or less.

My setup is the same, if the turbo is on the downpipe has to go from the bottom, not that big a deal, I have to go under to take it loose anyway.

I was able to leave the downpipe in the car when I did the cylinder head a while back, that was pretty cool. Pretty sure everyone can do that though, to some extent.

Yes, definitely making a brace. Notice the 2 bell housing bolts currently removed for fitment. I bought a 3" band clamp on accident when i need a 2.5", so im waiting on that.

And yes I am making it so I have to pull the turbo to pull the DP. Its really not that big of a deal, 6 clamps(vband, t bolt, and hose -2 of each), 2 oil lines, 3 nuts and its off. I expect it to take 20 minutes, I might even be able to just unbolt it from the mani and move it forward. Remember how top mount mine is?

From the bottom I could only get it in with the WG tube removed(well i didnt even try it in one pice TBH), then the WG tube slid in from the top. If it really proves to be a pita in one piece, then ill order a vband and splice it in.

Once you inconel and resbond and stage 8 it becomes a chore. Especially when you are like me and seem to be pulling your transmission every other week.

Doing my own inconel, dont plan on resbond or stage 8. Well see how that works lol.

In my defense, our tracks just arnt high speed. They are all so short compared to you north and mid westerners.

Also whats the consensus on wrapping the DP.

I was going to order 35ft of DEI titanium, yes? In addition to a heat shield, i hope to have under hood temps under control and no melted anything.
