I see that reference Sean. Not appreciated
Rings are sexy. Did you use pipe? Or round stock. I want to try and make some. I need practice on the lathe.
7 hours into the drive to MRLS, brakes are working great.

Solid round, which kind of sucks, but I got it cheap, and had it cored out in 10 minutes.
Ever since I replaced the run cap in the lathe, I can actually make roughing cuts again, yay!

Finally got some tuning time today. I got the dead times for my injectors from TLFperforamnce, and its amazing how much better VEAL works lol, not to mention low pulse width events like idle, etc.
Got the other end of my det cans done.

I havnt plugged it into the amp yet, but holding the hose up to my ear, i can hear... stuff.
I used the pattern making kit that emilio includes with the crossflow radiator for free!
here you can also see temporary det can hose routing, didnt feel like drilling the firewall.

Cut to size, but needs bent

I bent it

It shield all the things

I have a miniscule water leak i cant find. Going to go drive some more, and finish making the brackets for the heat shield. I need to buy some more rubber edging too.

I am under the assumption that all 1.6 miata leak a tiny bit of coolant at all times.
Were there a reason you went with the tin can style det-cans? What's with the amp, do you mean a set of hollowed out earmuffs?

I took the amp apart, took the microphone out of it, extended the leads, then potted the mic in a heavy 0 gauge ring terminal attached on the block. JB weld and stuff, for solid connection.
Isn't that how the electric det cans supposed to work?

So im sick of AFR offsets. Whats the wideband CAN module of choice these days? And more importantly, which is the cheapest one that works well?

Nope. It comes soldered. Just buy it. Code is already there for everything. Wideband works with an LC-1 and uses the 3.5mm jack. Not sure about others.
