The Current Events, News, and Politics Thread
I'm so confused why a far right wing circle jerk of a thread exists on a website about a Japanese roadster. Seriously, reddit seems like a far left echo chamber and this feels like the equivalent, if not worse, of a far right wing echo chamber.
Most of you guys don't even post about cars anymore. Seriously, regardless of political affiliation, why does this thread exist?

If you go back in time you will see that there was plenty of lefties posting on here. Then this thing happened where bat soup got out of hand and **** got crazy. When the world refused to give up their free will and ability to think for themselves, those lefties went away from this thread. Go figure.
Most people who post on this thread probably don't share your ideal world view and somehow that would make this a right wing circle jerk.
Most people who post on this thread that you call far right, just want their freedoms back. And most of us agree the best way for that to happen is for the gov't to stop doing anything. Seriously, just leave **** alone and protect us from foreign invaders.
Your screenname is awfully similar to one of those lefties that quit posting on here after the covid propaganda machine failed. Coincidence?

But please, feel free to post your propaganda. You're in a safe place, unless you have thin skin.
Yeah... not my best post up there... I was a bit fired up when I posted that and I think I'm just tired of seeing political bs everywhere I look. Attacking people with similar interests isn't going to help anything. Besides, if this thread didn't exist then the discussion would just be happening elsewhere.
Politics are so frustrating for me because everybody's got their bias and it seems difficult to get a straight answer half the time. I'm trying to entertain opinions from both sides of the spectrum but it can be difficult to see past the bias (from both sides).

For a while, it was pretty far-left, by contemporary standards. Lots of "**** the police" type rhetoric and such. Also lots of mocking of the anti-vax crowd, with their crystals and essential oils and such.
But then BLM happened, and the far-lefties took up the cry of "**** the police," so it was necessary to pivot and find a new direction.
And then COVID happened, and all of the lefties suddenly became pro-vax, so we had to change direction on that as well.
It's basically all just reactionary. Some folks' identities are shaped mainly by a desire to be the opposite of whatever some specific proxy group is.

I'm watching the Trump speech right now, about the plane crash in DC last night.
Very classy of him to spend ten minutes talking about how when he first came into office, he changed the standards for air traffic controllers to ensure that "we have our smartest people... they have to be naturally high-talented geniuses," and then talked about how "the FAA's diversity push focuses on hiring people with severe intellectual disabilities, psychiatric problems, and other mental disabilities" after "Biden changed the standards."

This is what it looks like on a good scope:
The bottom-left panel is the vectorscope analyzer, which shows the distribution of the various color components. I've drawn an arrow pointing at the box which represents green. Virtually no content there, as compared to the blue and cyan in the background.
The only color which is really popping is the red in his tie.

So, who exactly do you think is "they" in the context of altering the color-balance of the feed, the White House, or the Right Side Broadcasting Network?

While I agree that your stream of the Right Side Broadcasting Network appears green-tinted, that seems more like a Right Side Broadcasting Network problem to me.
This is what the raw feed being downlinked from the White House looked like on a calibrated scope:
That's my phone pointed directly at the front of a Leader model 5800 SDI analyzer, in a dimly-lit room with 5600k lamps overhead, with no post-processing of any kind.
Anyway, happy Croissant Day, regardless.

"Legend" is an Afghani who helped the Americans when we were there. He released the news (Through Shawn Ryan) that the Biden administration was sending between $40-$70 million per week to the Taliban. The assumption is that they could hate us for free.
Can you imagine approving your tax dollars going to our enemies? In what upside down world would this be OK?

I saw this earlier, a post from a Blackhawk pilot. Doesn’t really explain things but it does offer an interesting perspective -

This is not a far-right echo chamber. This is a "classical liberal" echo chamber. Liberals used to champion liberty, hence the name. Now, unfortunately, people who call themselves liberals are interested in controlling the lives and behavior of others rather than ensuring that others have opportunities to live their lives as they choose.
The idea of "live and let live" is not tolerated by the left or modern liberals. They see themselves as enlightened, intellectual, and morally superior, which means they should be making choices for the idiot proletariat (anyone who is not them). They are the experts on how everyone should live and think. There is no room for free thought as it is seen as foolishness and deviancy. This is not liberty. This is not freedom. This is not individualism. This is a thirst for control over others. And it is not humble and not generous of spirit. It is also not the American way.
