This woman is deaf, and needs a special interpreter because she also has a form of dysgraphia that doesn't let her use sign language properly. But at the same time she's an absolute genius as finding, mapping and making sense of data. She actually created a tool that allowed other people to "mine" for data in publicly-available government data in order to find waste/fraud/abuse. Pretty amazing.
And of course now there's death threats and the usual BS....all because she's discovered waste. To me, the post below was the most interesting concept I've read about taxes in a long, long time.
1. Two data points in a nation of our size is hardly a good indicator of prices in general. Shame, you should know better.
2. Spring is coming, and people drive more. Prices tend to rise in the spring, as gas consumption rises. Supply and demand, donchaknow.
Oh, I absolutely agree.
Here's my point, though: I have long held that there is no need for those of us on the right to fabricate false narratives. That's something which we've criticized the left for doing for years, and now I'm starting to see it creep into the MAGA narrative as well.
If we're all in agreement that gasoline prices have risen over the past month, then why create a meme, pretending to be the President, claiming "I have lowered gasoline prices?"

It's a hill worth dying on...a nitpicky hill, but a hill nonetheless. DJT closed the DOE this week too.....but he only MOSTLY closed it. So really not true. But basically true. But I'd totally add community notes to this so people weren't led astray.

So, serious question. Which of the following two statements do you agree with more?
1: "It is OK to knowingly lie, if the lie supports a narrative which I agree with."
or
2: "When I read something which reinforces my existing beliefs, there is no reason to consider whether it is true or false."

3: I have friends who are a little triggered by the current administration. I try to bring up other things where we may be able to laugh or discuss common ground, but to no avail. Hoping it's not permanent...
