Here's another question, what's the most powerful (peak) road course miata around. Andrews black car is around 360whp right? When this has an ear it will be able to make 400, I imagine gearboxes are the main issue.

In Australia the main specialist miata shop says that miata go quicker at 180rwkw than 220rwkw. All I hear is "I cannot be bothered to engineer a traction and/or drive ability solution".

With 17x10 slicks and ms2's ebc setup nice with a nice responsive EFR I hope that 250+rwkw is drivable and quicker than 200rwkw.

How much time and money are you willing to spend on chassis development?

Eventually you will only get so much out of the motor, and will have to look elsewhere for speed.

Time, plenty, money... not my call.

Obviously the issue is figuring out where the easiest and cheapest gains are to be had from here, experienced racers will be able to look at the car and tell me easily.

Pulling weight out would be my next thing but the owner wants to keep it registered.

Lots of power and a nice way for that power to be controllable is a good start.

We are aiming to drop from 1.06 to a low 1.03 around our local track.

not only is soviet's car faster than mine, it is quicker, brisker, swifter, prontoer, rapider, lickety spliter, in a jiffery, chop-choper, dashinger, expediative. amazingly, it's even more hurried.

And what has he done to ensure he has traction for all of those hp's?

Here's your 700rpm spool advantage:

Bryans Begi S4 GT2860RS:

Soviets EFR (6258 in the red, 6750 in the blue):

Also IIRC the 6258 was on open-loop EBC, so spool could have improved over that.

Ahhhh, the old left foot gassing technique. He must have forgot to do that a couple weeks about when he drifted into a curb.

1st - stop singling yourself out and trying to be some cool new revolutionary. So far you haven't proven jack. When you post up track times and dyno plots is when you will have more room to talk. So far you posted pretty welds (which is great), but don't get ahead of yourself.

2nd - take a look at how many 400whp miatas there are, and of those how many track them regularly. You'll realize that there are very few, and of those even less that actually track their cars. So yeah, there will be only a handful of people speaking from personal experience about tracking a 400whp+ miata successfully.

nothing is secret, just dont say silly things like at 240rwhp your car is a monster, but at 300rwhp the car will implode.

I agree 18psi, 100 percent. I'm not singing a revolutionary, but if I get where I want I'd like the answers sooner rather than later.

Brain: I don't believe that either I'm just relaying info local shops tell us. I'm a pretty young dude without heaps of experience and trying to understand why the local experienced people would say this.

I agree with you. Years without competition upping the bar and forcing them to develop.

Just an observation:

Most people with big wings don't mount them to the trunk itself because it compresses the seals and warps before adding all of the force to the chassis. They usually mount them to the drip rail frame around the lid or to the rear bumper area. FWIW, the trunk lids with factory luggage racks were only rated for 22 lbs max.
