It's scary how soft the framerails are on these cars. Are the V8R ones you ordered the same as the ones for the V8 swap kits? I helped install a set of those, they are seriously beefy units.

Yep, those are the V8R ones we installed. I have a set of the Flyin Miata Stainless Steel rails that I haven't installed yet and while they are very nice, they are nothing compared to the V8R ones. The weight difference alone is staggering.
My unsolicited recommendation would be to make sure you use something to seal up the drilled holes in the pan. Doubly so if you live somewhere with salt or in your case, lots of moisture. I may go nuts and like POR15 all the holes I need to drill and replace the FM hardware with stainless. But I'm also a little nuts about this kind of stuff

Haha, yeah I'm going to seal the hell out of everything I have to drill for the rails and rollbar. Typically I use a spray sealer and paint/primer like I did when I had to drill for my side skirt tupperware.
Which reminds me,
I need to fix these window seals. Just took the car for a drive in the rain and it drips water all over my leg.. everyone I wash the car I have to be careful around the windows so I don't make pools of water in the seats.

I'm wondering if it's possible to move this thread to the proper /Build Thread/ place?
Packed with so much. Sadly I was only able to install rollbar and get new top mount manifold underway.
Damn spring and all this pollen with a black car = yellowish car.
I definitely love the view.
Here's a picture of 3.63's

If I end up wanting more I'll be doing an engine swap.

Yeah, I swapped the 4.3 open that came with my 2000 for a 4.1 torsen but I still have the 5 speed. I've got a 6 speed ready to install but I've been waffling about the 4.1/6 combo. Lurking in the "alternate transmission" threads I'm seeing 3.6/6 combo is like a 5 speed with a pretty legit overdrive 6th...
But I'm probably over-thinking this for my 225/250hp

4.1/6spd isn't that bad with 215/225ft/lbs but shifting ALLTHETIMES does slow you down. Even though I love shifting. I get that warm feeling every time since I give off loud bangs and flames.
I'm going to see how I like 4.1/6 with the big turbo before I give it to puddymod to install the 3.63.
It's funny at me but I used Forza to find what I liked. I tried all the different ones, even the 3.03(?) group buy.

I'm thinking of doing the AC delete but... it's Florida.
Engine is about to come out, things repaired, and new setup installed.
I'm pretty excited.
Just waiting on my 3" mandrel bends.
Along with oil catch can, I'm waiting to use the sheet metal to do some ducting and possible design an intake manifold.
