I canceled my Ohlins order.

Emilio said the XIDA's will be out of stock for another month or so. He said they are taking some valving out of the very top of the range that was never used and that helps to make the street ride better. I am going to go full baller and I will be getting the XIDA ACE's. I might be the first one to ever get them and they will be going on the cheapest trim level and with a ticking time-bomb transmission lol. Let me know when they are back in stock Emilio! I check the website regulary, but if you want to get an ND set out there, I'm your guy.

Good decision. The aces are going to be super badass. I rarely find myself contemplating spending more than 3 figures on my car, but these things should be awesome.

Finally!!! Don't let the date of an upcoming track day be the deciding factor for a mod you will live with for years. Be patient and get what you really want!

I'll see you at Hallett!

I bought and installed a used Goodwin Race muffler before Miatas @ Hallett and it sounds awesome. That will be the only engine mod until my transmission goes boom.

I also managed to get some tickets for Miatas @ MRLS. Saturday I am in D group and then C on Sunday. Hallett allowed me to run my '16 all stock, but I HAVE to get the BBFW rollbar installed for Laguna.

I also have a Verus rear diffuser and underpanel set on order. The Sport has an open differential stock, so I need to install the OEM LSD I have sitting in my garage. I have the Flyin Miata 4-wheel Powerlite caliper kit with Ferodo DS2500 pads ready to go in. I ordered the Verus brake duct kit, but that won't be in in time for MRLS. I also got a triple-pass radiator and a tow hook from Flyin Miata. I will mostly likely pull the 15x8's with fresh 205/50 Conti ECS's on them from my 01 and run them because my OEM tires are getting close to finished. The trip to Monterey will be 1300+ miles for me one-way, so that and the track use would wipe out the rest of the tread on the stock wheels.

I am sad that I can't get the XIDA ACE's on in time, because they are still out of stock and no ETA...

I know I need an oil cooler, but I don't trust Mishimoto ****. I wish someone else would come out with one! Since this car will become my DD in about 6 months, I think a Laminova would be great.

Looks like these guys liked the ohlins better, and put some s2ks in their place. However autox =/= track. I also have not investigated that much.

Yep, I saw that thread and my heart sank that I could have had those on my car in time for MRLS, if I hadn't cancelled them... Those ACE's better be, uh, ace.

I installed the Blackbird RZ bar, a stock LSD, and Flyin Miatas 4-wheel Powerlite caliper kit. I put some Ferodo DS2500 pads all 4 corners too.

Moti is an absolute master at fabrication and the bar fit perfectly, but the instructions made me want to kill. I am incompetent and the instructions are written for the competent.

The stock LSD is a pain to put in. I had my uncle help me, but he refused to do it the way the service manual wants because he thought he could save time. It was his house, lift, and tools, so whatever. So nothing was torqued to spec and now I have a clunk when I let out the clutch. The PPF is probably misaligned.

The brakes were pretty simple, but assembling the janky e-brake cables in the back was annoying. The pads feel pretty good though and the car definitely stops better now. I will test fit my 15's soon.

If Emilio or Andrew would come out with a quality oil cooler kit for this car (and possibly a trans cooler since it's a touch on the dainty side) I might be convinced to save myself thousands from buying an SS 1LE.

But I absolutely refuse to anything made by Mishimoto on anything I own.

Side question. Are people getting hassled about replacing failed 2016 gearboxes by the dealer, or is it widely enough known they are just doing it?

I ask as there is a local dealer here with a HEAVILY discounter 2016 Club trims.

I was told they will replace mine when it breaks. Hopefully it is still under warranty at that point

Did a search in my area after reading that. Prices are holding firm, even with winter approaching. I sincerely doubt they sell many Miatas this time of year.

Naturally, they have dozens of the crossovers.

My bad, they have a black Club manual for $4200 off MSRP. And a black, manual GT for $4330 off MSRP.

Too bad they're black. Looks great but so much work...
