I'm impressed that it only gained 13 pounds with a drop top. I wonder how much chassis rigidity they lost though.

Wow. That car went from way sexier than any miata, to way uglier than any miata.

I think most cars that are not initially designed as convertibles have the problem of getting very ugly when they are converted. Think 350z/370z roadster.

That and I've never been a fan of non-roadster convertibles. I mean why even keep the back seats? It's not like they're usable on a regular GT-86. So lets take MORE legroom away from the too-small seats!

Agreed. I don't like it as a convertible, but I've been debating getting one of the regular ones. I'd probably get the Subaru version though.

2 reasons. Insurance and luggage.

A Miata is a pretty crap car for taking the missus on a 1 week road trip. A BRZ is only a kinda crap car for it. She can fit two large buckets of stuff back there.

And kids: miata is automatically disqualified as a kid hauler. The toyobaru, on the other hand, will still fit a small car seat back there in addition to a passenger

Love how it's angled to provide lift instead of downforce.

Airflow along a slanted surface does not have to be exactly horizontal...

Make me wonder how long they'll stay in TTD since the car pictured is mostly stock (BC coilovers and tune).
