I think I am going to just make my inter cooler work. Even if I have to get a new one and remake my intake manifold to be front facing I know it is really the right way. I will have to make some serious adapter or have some serious welding on my intake manifold and get a standard style inter cooler with inlet and outlet on opposite side. I will keep you all updated.
18 psi. You are 100% right no matter how hard I try to "fix" it I will end up spending more money than it would take to get the intercooler fixed correctly. So I will suck it up and make it work.

So I took your guy's advise and to do it right I just purchased a 2jzGTE upper intake manifold so I can have a front facing manifold. It is gonna take some fabrication and some time but I am sure it will work out for the better. I will let you guys know how it works out and post pics as I go.

Yes the new intake design will fee up some more hp and allow for easier repairs on the car once it is on. I was avoiding this before due to the cost but at this point I don't care as long as it works. I am still very cheap considering I would rather make this one work than buy the $750 one that bolts on but I don't have that kind of green to throw down.
On a side note talking about HP numbers. I think I was a little confused on what I should expect. I found a car with the same turbo putting down 439 whp at 15psi. I thought this was kinda low but went with it. Now I know hp numbers are just numbers but everyone always wants to put down a good one.lol If you take into consideration the other car has a full 3" exhaust and a turbo 350 trans his numbers will be way way different than mine. From what I have learned the trans alone will steal somewhere around 150 hp and the exhaust compared to mine will be around 40hp so I can hope to put down just over 600whp. I would be happy with close to 500 but anything more will be icing on the cake.
Here is a pic of the top half of the mani I just bought I will have to make it fit to my needs witch should not be that bad and its cool that it will keep the factory look. The only other major thing I will need to figure out is what throttle body to run. I can run an aftermarket one and get rid of my IAC witch is not a big deal or I can run a factory one and make it work. As far as the IAC I have no problems getting rid of that but I will have to rewire my TPS for what ever throttle body I run and make sure it is working the right way.
You can see in this picture compared to the first picture in the post below how much different the lower half of the 1jz manifold looks it is much shorter and obviously oval ports. But from what I can see other than port shape the bolt pattern looks close so if I have to do some porting to make them match at the junction that will be fine with me. I am not going for max power here just enough power to laugh like crazy every time I drive the car.

Now here are some more pics of the 1j intake manifold and there is a lower half of a 2j manifold where I will have to do some porting to make them work but all in all I do not think it will be that bad. I just need to figure out the throttle body thing.
2jzge lower manifold
1jz upper manifold this is the two flanges I will have to make fit......
1jz manifold on a 1jz engine just to show how awesome it looks lol
another pic of a 1jz runners

Ok so what I have found out so far is that the easiest way to make all this work is to make an adapter for my IAC off my 2j manifold and make it work on my 1j mani. I will also have to look into getting a throttle body plate welded on or running another throttle body of some sort and converting the tps. I think it will not be that bad.

OK so good news. I went to court yesterday for my accident in my civic where some guy pulled out in front of me on the highway from the shoulder and I rear ended him. I was worried because of the way the laws are in MD I would not be able to win the case, but it was my lucky day. I went to court all ready with all my paperwork and a little display I made to show what happened and to my luck the cop did not show. So now I am not guilty and my paperwork says I did not contribute to an accident. So my insurance company can go kick some ***.
On another note I just ordered my throttle body for my car and have been looking to get a new intercooler. The only thing that sucks about that is I will also need a new BOV because mine currently has a flange welded to the intercooler. I did not really like that BOV to begin with so I am gonna order a knock off tial and mount it in my charge pipes somewhere. I am still waiting on all my stuff to come in so as soon as it does I will get to work on getting the car running.

18 psi. Is right the final drive ratio is better with the RX-7 rear and supra trans. I wish I could have even less gear in the back and go from a 3.90 to something like a 3.73 or even a 3.30 but it will have to work for now. I am glad I have kept going threw all of it even though at some points it has really sucked should be able to make one more big push then deal with all the little **** but you never know. Also the way it is set up right now it seemed to hook pretty good with street tires at 12psi. on the old turbo so with the good springs in the back and a set of home made traction bars down the road it will be fine.

Just got a call from my GF my new turbo just got to my house along with something else I dont know what but will find out. I will post comparison pics of the turbo when I get home to see how big it really is. I am now contemplating running a 50 - 75 shot of nitrous to help spool the turbo at lower rpms for when I really need to beat someones *** on the street.

Ok here you guys go only because I know you are all picture ******. Below are the pics of my new turbo next to my size 12 shoe, as well as my new fuse box relay box combination, and my new oil feed fitting witch I will be drilling out all the way today so my new turbo does not see the same fate as my old one.
