Geez thats nuts. You guys have a death wish lol.
The few times I've been over 120 I was seriously nervous and let off after a couple seconds.

I've done more than 160 tuning a customer's car. Yeah, that was nuts.

Aside from my hard top making a whistle the car felt pretty tame at 150+. Just kinda rolled into it and 150 came pretty quick. I just did it for the sake of a picture though. Didn't feel too light, no walking around. Pretty well planted for having no aero or aftermarket down force.

Fastest I've done is 125 in my MSM which was stock and the car felt completely fine and did not even take that long to get there. I'd imagine 25 more miles per hour would be a little different but I think adding any chassis stiffening and a decent suspension would make the car stable.

Best I've done is 120, and I was running out of straight road and didn't want the mexican drug police to arrest my ***. Even 120 was kind of scary, though.

See? This is why I need a turbo...I hit that 130 when my car was completely stock...so it took a while.

I have never gone that fast in my Miata, but the Subaru wagon that I had previously topped out at 155 and was rock solid. Are these cars really that sketchy at speed?

They're just not meant to go that fast. They top out at 110-115ish in stock form, so adding 40mph on top of that can be sketchy. I've heard this especially with NAs, probably since they're the lightest?

Unfortunately my crazy speed days are behind me, I've done an indicated 140 in a Saab which was rock steady, but nothing like that since I turbo'd the miata.

I've been 125 in my NB and it felt just fine. Are NB2s maybe more aerodynamic??

Funny story about my old '93 was I could get it up to like 115 eventually with the headlights down, but with the headlights up it would barely do 110 lol (non-turbo).

my 1st (gt28) setup vs a 280whp wrx
went up to 130 if I remember correctly

getting there is not hard part, and its not like the car feels deathly, but staying over 120 for a significant amount of time you definitely get nervous. (at least I do)

Well another factor I forgot on my experience was that I have a Hardtop...it noticeably stiffens the car (or makes you THINK that it is from the reduced NVH). Regardless, it felt pretty comfortable for 5-6 seconds.

I really wanna try again once I lower it with good tires, good suspension, and my bigger front skirt when it gets here. That should stop a lot more flow from getting under the car, becoming all churned up (slowing down).

Sorry to derail a little, there is a pretty hefty thread on aero on m.net - wings and splitters?

Back to Dem's insane ride and DIY skills that make me sad that I'm such a newb...

I like the pattern of people drooling over the white NB with dark headlights...

Nice. I wish someone would design a headunit with a HDMI input and touchscreen USB output.

I thought you worked for a company that sold head units...
