So last night this guy called me out pretty hard. I quote "Bring that Junk Miata out".
His car: $100,000 BMW M6 with 25k in modifications.
My car: $12,000 Mazda Miata with whofukingknows in modifications (all done by myself).
The deal was 45-135. I didn't want this, it's not my best starting point, nor my best ending point but. Not sure why I was the one making the compromise in this situation.. I was after all in a MIATA!
We ran it out until about 150 and he eventually caught up, but at 135 I was clearly ahead.
My fav moment:

Absolutely no reason whatsoever to do that when DSS axles would cost less.
Having finally watched the clips posted I am really impressed at your ability to put down the power you're working with Bryan. It "only" has 330 yet you're whoopin on cars left and right, and a 12.1 @ 115 is really good considering its your 1st time to the track with the setup (unless I'm mistaken).
Fae needs to take notes on pretty much this whole thread
I know I am

My only real reason for not getting more stout axles is because I'm actually happy having that as a weak link. 60 bucks per axle beats an expensive, rare diff. Or a 1000 bucks on a new trans.
Yes, first time on that setup, first run. Thanks man. Appreciate it. <Props welcome

I agree with leaving the stock axles in it. You're just going to break ring gears and diffs if you put nicer axles in it.
I would keep a pair of spares and the tools to swap them out in the trunk if you plan on driving it like a hoon everywhere, though, lol.

Pretty sure his trans would take a dump then.
Its like a link chain: you upgrade 1 link you gotta upgrade all the others, or leave the weakest link the easiest/cheapest one to replace.

Alright guys- I'm looking for new wheels that i'll likely rock on the track. 16 inch wheels are just too hard to find track tires in. Nothing offered that will fit properly.
Guidelines i'd like to stay within:
I'll likely be painting them some crazy color- Purple or Orange. I'm into the Grid but have not found them in an offset that I like.

I'd love to rock these, i'd hate to clean them:

I really like these. Not sure how they'd look as a 15x8 +20 though:

Feedbacks?
Guidelines i'd like to stay within:
- Lightweight 12-14.5 lbs
- 15x8 or 15.9
- Offset that will look aggressive but I won't need to pull.
- Around 100 a piece shipped

ccw replicas. they're heavy though, like 15.5lbs iirc.
any of those would work, but if you want to keep weight and cost down while retaining decent offset, look into 6ul, konig, or trm.
