it depends on your level of inner-ricer
I personally don't like either of those. I liked the turbosmart compact bpv on my msm so much that I even got one for the subie too.
Part throttle it is nearly silent. Only at full throttle does it make noise, and even then subtle. You basically have to "try" to make noise with it. RICER ON DEMAND

I don't remember a thread about that. But it's simple heat transfer. I have had a few threads here where I was ridiculed about something regarding heat transfer by people who don't understand it. There's a few threads on that. Hell I earned this sweet avatar from one of them! Makes me laugh.
the person that did it didn't even participate in that convo
in fact, I don't think he participated in ANY of your convo's
just so you know

Im seeing them new for about $125-175. That seems acceptable if this one ends up pissing me off too much. Ill try different port styles before i give up though, maybe run it through a little KandN or something.
you can get a china knockoff of it for like 65 total. not as nice, and doesn't sound as nice, but still pretty good and not obnoxiuos
there's a metric boat load of knockoff bov's out there these days. so much that it takes days to even sift through them all. kinda cool I guess

I have a Turbosmart Vee Port BOV sitting here brand new, it's a nice piece. I've also heard it on my buddy's 1.6 turbo and it's like a good amount of BOV noise but not annoying.

Well other than the oil return leaking, and boost peaking at 4-5psi, everything seems great.
What are these TD04-13t wastegates rated for?
pulls nice for 4 psi
autotune ftw
BOV sounds perfect when it actually opens all the way
boost onset is at 2600rpm, but climbs slowish, need ebc, have solenoid
Yay!!!!!

The oil return leaks?
What have you done with the PCV? I think I was pushing oil out of my upper return fittings when I was first turbo'd.
Does the wastegate have adjustable preload?

I realized this while eating dinner an hour ago
stock pcv, looking at catch cans and 1 way valves as we speak. Dip stick popped out too. I have a vatozone brand gtx valve, but it doesnt fit. The blow test shows it leaks as much as the stocker.
Yes, and who knows what this poor turbo went through before I got it. It looks like it has some thread left for adjustment, ill try.
Also, need to make heat shield ASAP.

I'd keep spinning the preload up till it gets where you like it, though I have no idea what they are rated for. My 7 psi china can does 4-10 pretty well, depending on how hard I load it.
I'm still rocking the $3 plastic PCV valve I found at autozone. The plunger doesn't have stamped letters in the sealing face, so it actually seals. The part number is in my thread somewhere, no more leaks or pops for me.
