Inside your head must be a seriously scary place.

On a related note, uh oh... https://www.whitehouse.gov/president...-all-agencies/

Not that the members of this echo chamber will see a problem with the above, but this seems like pretty bad news for our democracy.

This is also pretty hilarious. https://trumpgolftrack.com/

I can't wait to hear the justification for your king's use of taxpayer money on this one.

I wonder what it will take to get his herd to realize they are being led to the slaughter.

I'm guessing you don't have much problem with him helping to get rid of the congestion tax, but with him referring to himself as king?

Because surely you wouldn't side with the rich people who lived in those areas that pushed hardest for it. They wanted less traffic on "their" streets. The Limousine Liberals on the upper west side wanted fewer cars choking up their streets so they could have more peace and quiet. Because they moved to multi-million dollar homes in Manhattan for the peace and quiet and all that NEW TRAFFIC just bothered them -- it was a tax on everything below Central Park and south. Basically all the retail, office and tourist space. There was also no tax exemption for the people who never use those roads either.

And on top of all that: One of the most infuriating things about this whole ordeal was to raise money to fix the MTA system, while simultaneously raising fares. However, NY state, already has numerous taxes and surcharges on various things already specifically for transit funding, in addition to customer fares. Every taxi/uber ride in the 5 boroughs, among other charges, has a MTA surcharge about the same as the price of a swipe that goes directly to the MTA and not the driver. Any employer in a multi county area (NYC + 7 suburban counties) has to pay a payroll tax to the MTA as well. Coincidentally, the same amount of fund they want to raise for MTA equals the amount of losses by fare evaders -- the worst in the world.

Ever heard of the art of the troll? Remember 8 years ago when Trump was on the defensive his entire presidency -- starting with Obama illegal wiretapping him, him starting WWII, and ending with him "not going to leave the WH" and "he's going to pardon his entire family?" cute.

Can you explain to me, like I'm AOC, why this would be bad for our democracy?

You seem triggered. Just take a few deep breaths and try to calm yourself down, I promise it is all going to be ok.

Serious question for all you good little boot lickers on here, do you really want Trump (or anyone for that matter) to have unstoppable power over the USA?

Is it not concerning to you that the White House is essentially now the all powerful authority in this country that answers to no one? (that is what that EO I posted above says if you read it)

As for the congestion pricing, I don't know much about it. As a result, I don't have an opinion one way or the other. To me, a sitting president calling himself a king in the USA is a much bigger problem than tolls.

Another thing that I don't think you realize is that I am not arguing that we don't have waste in our government. I am also not arguing that this country has a lot of problems. Things have been broken for a long time and they need to be fixed, but the way to do that is not oligarchy. If you think Trump or the billionaire class give a **** about you, you are dreaming.

It isn't red vs blue, it is billionaires vs you!

edit - I also can't help but notice that you don't actually respond to anything I post. "Suddenly a liberal cares about government waste...". How hypocritical do you have to be to shitpost so much about how Trump is stopping so much waste but then when he is the one wasting taxpayer money, you are ok with it?

I have seen Braineack's source code.

It is... weird. Like, I don't think it was actually written by a human. Most of the comments in it are just phonetic transliterations of hissing and clicking noises, for instance.

While I recognize that "learn about things beyond a superficial level" is generally not one of the reasons why you participate in this thread, there is a very long history of the Courts upholding that motor vehicles enjoy a much lesser standard of protection under the 4th Amendment than other "houses, papers, and effects."

The first such ruling was Carroll v. US in 1925, in which the Supreme Court upheld the search of a car being driven by a bootlegger in Michigan.

Here is a very good summary of the whole hundred-year history of the topic, with some of the more notable cases discussed in in detail: https://constitution.findlaw.com/ame...amendment.html

Cause it very apparent that you have no intention of having a serious discussion nor the mental capacity to do so. Just a lot of projection.

Don't you remember, the SC literally ruled that trump can literally do whatever he literally wants to do?!

how about this: We only have 3 Branches of Government... if the Agency is NOT under the President/Executive - then exactly WHO is the Agency under?

As someone who has lived in Manhattan (83rd & 1st), I will never understand why some people choose to keep and drive private vehicles on the island.

That's not me being a leftist, that's me saying "driving and parking a car is the second-worst possible way to get around Manhattan south of 125th."
