That's true. I am however doing what 88a said when I have used a petrol setup wide band on an e85 car. Tuning this way is common.

you better tell innovate that.... they claim their mtx-l is compatible with all fuel types, gas, diesel, methanol and yes even E85

notice how I did that without the name calling?

Yes Innovate can do that.. why? Because of the controller... it can change the output of what you see on the gauge. It can make you see air fuel ratio of 20 being 15afr and 10 being 10afr... it can do all that ****... that's how they do it using the same equipment.

It uses the "rearranging keys on a keyboard" method.

Dammit dude do you know how to read? THE CONTROLLER TELLS THE GAUGE WHAT NUMBERS TO DISPLAY AND YOU CAN CHANGE THE PROGRAMMING. God damn man stop picking little bits and pieces and read the whole ******* post as one.

The LC1 controller can tell the gauge what number to display regardless or what the true afr is. **** gauges, you can use a ******* volt meter to display the numbers using a volt scale. Same ****.

So now you've come circle and are saying my original statement was correct

don't be a dick....dick.

you started this stupid pIssing match by being a *** about how to tune using a wideband and saying you needed a different sensor for different fuels, go Read your own damn post for Christ sake.

good luck with you're build Dann, I hope you get the spool fixed, it's a great looking project so far.

Man you need some help. Theres a big difference between being a dick and being plain annoyed... Read the ******* posts dude and leave the quotes to the movie stars.

Your original statement is wrong.

There is 2 different sensors, theres flex fuel sensor and a regular wideband sensor that we use for gasoline. They both display different numbers. They both are calibrated to read different stuff. That is why you dont tune for 8.5:1 on e85 using a gasoline sensor calibrated for gasoline afr readings.

You can use them for the wrong fuel however they will output the wrong results. The common thing to do is use the gasoline sensor and tune for 12-11.5 because if you were to use the correct flex fuel sensor that would show ~8.5:1

To clear up your confusion on the LC1.. the controller is programmable. It tells the gauge what to show you. In other words it still uses the gasoline calibration however then changes the numbers so on the gauge they are displayed using the flex fuel sensor scale.

You take the 2 sensors, one is the gasoline wideband and the other one is the flex fuel sensor and you tune E85 for the correct afr in boost... the gasoline wideband would show 11.5-12 and the flex fuel sensor would show you 8-8.5.

Is this clear enough?

88a, you are posting as if you dont understand how the wideband works.

It reads in LAMBDA like all o2 seonsors do, and then the software outputs the lambda as an AFR for your fuel of choice or custom programming to the display.

Lambda of 0.8= a AFR of 11.8 on petrol, which is actually like 8.5:1 on E85 but if you just take it as a petrol reading and aim for between 11.5-12:1 its easier on the brain to remember.

Right however unless you convert it you will see the gasoline afr value on the gauge.

Which is fine if you know what values on that scale to aim for when tuning E85, in this case, 11.5-12:1 at full boost, which I have.

No worries.

Now we all understand each other, we can relax, give me some time to get a tune up and then you can all stare in disbelief at the next move I make just like last time.

I think that is an insult to his fabrication skills. It also doesn't take him years to get results.

Hi Dann.
I probably missed something but from what people
are saying you don't have an o2 sensor?

Get a lc1 and use tunerstudio to zero in on AFR targets.
It's worth the buy and AFR will be much better then your 10:1
in minutes.
..and it's unbelievable that the car is maxing the turbo, making good
power @ 10afr.

what o2 log are you looking at?

he's making peak torque at .85 lambda, which is 12.5:1 while using e85. that's LEAN on 93 octane and LEANER on e85.

Lambda of 0.85 isnt lean for e85. Normally you tune e85 learner than 93 for more power and torque.
