My turbo MX-5
The overlays only reinforce the idea that he should install a 1.6L that doesn't build boost until 5K; especially since he's quite often around 3800 in corners.

Got second place at the season’s last race. Also ranked second in my class overall this year. I’m pleased consider all of my problems with the brakes and clutch. I have a fastest car by far in my class. Now I only have to learn to drive it fast

This is how my gearbox sounds like now
Time to get new one I guessI broke it in last superlap session when my cam sensor got loose. Ecu start cutting fuel in full boost and then when it came back it hit all the 300ftlbs+ torque back to gearbox through unspring twin disc clutch. I would been surprised if my gearbox had withstand that
How easy is it to get another 6-speed in Finland? I hear it is tough in some parts of Europe.
Getting something stronger gets expensive quick.
Good timing breaking it in the last session.

6speed gearboxes cost around 400-600$ in this part of Europe. When my car started to twitch due fuel cut I knew that I can stop my lap, spare my car and give up my second place or run(all-of-it) it to the end and likely broke something. I’m glad I choose to run it to the end. That move gave me my second place in the season’s final results.
My 10AE Turbo build should be complete this week, as if I wasn't already super excited after watching your videos I want to drive that bitch right now!
Very nice build. Thanks for sharing.

thinking isn't my strong point
And I have to begin downshift early! If you haven’t notice my gearbox is broken. There’s a good change that gear isn’t going in at the first try.

Have anyone ever tear down these gearboxes? I mean all the gears work. I guess it’s just the “main shaft gear” etc. that has failed. I’m not sure if 5speed boxes share any same parts...
The internal parts of the 6 speeds are the same as the ones in the RX8s. They frankly have a rotten reputation in their racing circles. But in turbo Miata land it is better than our 5 speeds for holding power without breaking. I know a race shop owner with lots of experience with them. Mike at ISC Racing in Florida.
