I failed to get a video of me setting the space. I needed a third had to hold the camera. So I just took a picture of the card in between.

That makes more sense now, but the tooth is already gone. :(

Hopefully I don't have to take the crank back off because I'm running the TSE wheel and did not install the spacer-ring.

Does anyone have tips for lining-up the CKP hall sensor? It seem like I can mount it as close or as far away from the crank as I want and I'm not sure what the distance needs to be.
You only have to remove the four small bolts to get the pulley off. It's easier than swapping a vvt motor into your POS daily.

I wouldnt worry about it then. I bet if you got them from UPS they got more jostled than that during shipping.
