Maybe just loop the two barbs together, then run whatever spring pressure is. Get tuning a bit, then use EBC for faster ramp up when it's on the dyno?

My wideband was just delivered... Sucks I wont be able to get to it until tonight. I ran out to Home Depot and bought a small barbed fitting, which I plan on installing in a small piece of straight Aluminum piping using JB weld. I am going to put that on the hot side of the intercooler temporarily until I get my silicone tap fitting in the mail (Hopefully later this week)

It aint pretty but it should work and get me tuning lol

Drilled till it was almost big enough to fit in the hole, then just used a wrench to force it to kinda tap into the aluminum. Fits in there snug so it shouldn't pop out... Followed it up with some JB weld inside and out.

Had to change that fitting over to a curved aluminum pipe but I have it all installed and the jb is curing!

Got home and a package was at the door!!!

So the car is falling on it's face at 100% throttle, almost like its hitting fuel cut or something... Not sure why but other than that everything seems ok. I'm just going to keep putting miles on it and autotuning. How can I post my tune/datalog?

Its usually 1 of 3 things causing that.

1)overboost protection. Look at your logs and see if you exceed your OB KPA cut.

2)spark blow out. Easier fix, adjust your gap. Since you are running 10psi, .40 gap should be fine if on COPs but you can try .35 to be safe.

3) noise on your TPS

1 is very very obvious, 2 is more of a sputtering "gentle wall" or retard of power. 3 you will see big spikes in your tps log.

Take a look.

Also, check if AFR/knock protection is on/off. AFR protection was causing mine while my VEAL map was totally fubard.

Also check and see if your revlimiter is set correctly

Also check Launch Control.

Hope that helps

Thanks! I think I "may" have gotten it sorted out....

For one thing, I forgot to switch from my LC-2 settings to the new AEM calibrations in Tunerstudio... After switching that and running some autotuning, I think its getting better.

I also turned off overboost protection to eliminate that possibility. I will put that back on and adjust the settings for it appropriately once I fee like the car is more balanced as far as the tune is concerned. If I have having this fuel cut problem, I will have to check my spark plugs gap. I ordered them from Trackspeed (I think) and I selected the plugs for turbo application... So I am assuming that they would have been delivered pre-gapped and ready to drop in.

One thing that happened to me was the TPS accel settings weren't setup correctly. Try just turning that off and see if it fixes it.

1st is avoiding the main issue. Tune your closed loop boost control, don't just turn off overboost. Better now than later.

2, the plugs from TSE are just 2 steps colder for turbo applications, it doesn't mean they are pregapped. I guarantee Andrew is not wasting his time pregapping every plug he sends out. I'm 99% sure your plugs are .045 right now.

Ok I just ran to AutoZone and grabbed a gapper. Letting the engine cool down and then I will gap the plugs

Ok I will put the overboost protection back on. That wasn't where the problem lied anyway because even with it off, it was still happening.

On another note.... I blew an intercooler pipe on the way to Autozone.... I had to have left the clamp too lose by mistake because I was just autotuning and only went to like 8psi. Scared the hell out of me. Luckily it still ran fine just wasnt making boost. First I thought I killed the motor... Then once I realized the motor was running normally I figured I killed the turbo.... Got to Autozone popped the hood and breathed a sigh of relief. Put it back and tightened the clamp in the parking lot and went home.

Fingers crossed its better after the plugs are correctly gapped!

Good luck, sorry if I came off a little strong, just trying to save yah potential issues and more time scratching your head.

I had a pipe blow on the way to autocross but was still getting 8psi, not bad for a massive atmo leak.

D-clamps or worm gear clamps? If the latter, save yourself headaches and damage to your silicone and buy some nice D-clamps for peace of mind. I only use worm gears on vacuum hoses.

Save a kitten, beadroll your IC pipes.

No no no no please... I've been collecting parts for this build for 2 years. The last thing I want to do is get impatient now and screw somthing up... Too much work to have something go seriously wrong. Lol 8 psi with a blown pipe that's insane!

I do have all D-Clamps clamps.

I have 1 or 2 pieces of intercooler piping that I had to trim, so they are missing the beads. Believe it or not, these are not the ones that failed! The coupler popped right off the cold side intercooler bead. The only thing I can think of is that I somehow missed completely tightening that D-Clamp.

Ok so I gapped my plugs and had another "DOH!" moment! Cylinder 3 and 4 had both:

a.) Hand tight spark plugs threaded into the head... Literally could have taken them out without a ratchet.

b.) COP's stud nuts were not tightened down... The boots were loose as a goose and could easily be pulled up/down off of the spark plug

On top of those dumb mistakes... My plugs were all set to .045 just like stated above... Literally have no idea how the car ran as well as it did, aside from 100% throttle lol

I'm calling it a night for now... Wife will be home from work any minute. Time to kick back and have some dinner... I will get back to it tomorrow on my full day off. Excited to see how it does with the problems corrected.

That small stuff is evil to your ego. We've all done it though.

I forgot to attach my return line after I installed my AFPR and Walbro 255. Turned the key and had 70+psi of fuel spew out. It was a couple quarts of fuel before I saw it.

Yeah I dont let stuff get to me lol. I'm new to all of this and learn more and more every day. Tomorrow is another day and hopefully I can get it tuned better now that I've righted the wrongs

Perfect mind set to have. It is weird to give advice and not seem like an idiot now co side ring I knew jack **** about Miata a year ago. You learn fast that way at least!

You'll love the first autocross/track day when it is running right! All worth it after that.

Just drove it to get coffee this morning and its still doing the same thing. I'm going to get some datalogs of it happening and get them posted... Its so annoying cause as soon as I get into the throttle just a little too much, it cuts out. I turned the overboost protection back on btw
