Took it for a short drive maybe only 1/2 mile up the road. I just wanted to bring it up to temp to check for leaks and whatnot. Omg it sounds amazing!!! Tried to stay out of boost because I have to get it tuned... God I can't wait to actually drive this thing!!!

Sooo had to stop by work tonight to get drill bits for a "Honey Do" project... I couldnt resist turning the key while I was there.
Guess what.... HLA Noise Just... Stopped. It was there for a split second and then went away 100%... I'm not complaining, Motor sounds mint now.

manifold or inlet?
it's drawing vacuum, it's pat of lease resistance is probably the big gaping hole behind the filter, so it's probably fine.
I didn't use a gasket on the exhaust manifold. Havent had a problem and no banshee screaming under load. Well, that was back when it ran.

So I have a tune lined up for Tuesday but I'm having second thoughts... It's a local guy who was recommend to me by a couple guys on my local Miata fb. Apparently he has tuned a few megasquirt miatas. Would I be better off having you guys walk me through tuning this thing myself or should I fork over the $200 have him help me tune it and show me the ins and outs of MS...
Can I get a decent tune on it myself by setting my target afr table up an let ve analyze do the work?

I've been told by many that you really should only utilize the dyno to get your timing map setup properly. Mostly everything else you can do yourself, and you'll have a better tune running auto tune as much as possible.
