Valve cover has been primed white. Tonight I will pain the letters on it. Then tomorrow I will crinkle coat it black. The plan is to have the car back together and running on Saturday.

New VVT oil line. With the FM LS coil bracket you cannot fit the stock VVT oil line. So I went and had a 30" -4AN line made and fittings welded on to the 2 places it attaches to.

The machine shop did ---- up though. They welded the fitting on backwards so I should have a -4AN male side coming out of this plate. Instead they turned it around. So I had to buy an adapter to screw in so that I could mate it up with the line.

i support gold foil as the best anti-radiation heat protection. why do you think it's used on just about every satellite launched? aint many heat sources in space besides radiation.
the point is "who cares how it looks if it functions better?"

That is how I feel about the orange fire sleeve. I would love to have black, but that is not what the local shop that makes my hoses has. The stuff they use meets some crazy specs that are required by the Navy, so I can live with it being a funny color.

yeah so it's 428F versus 500F but come on, do you think it matters?
I also like this stuff:

Does anyone know what this little screen is for? I am almost positive it has something to do with VVT. I just can not figure out for the life of me where it goes.
Sits in the valve cover under the oil feed line. Basket filter. Under that two-bolt thing you have the fitting welded onto.
BTW taking out the upper control arm bolt worked.

It will go to my catch can. You can see it in the picture below over near the fuse box.

That is a test fitting of everything. Tomorrow I will actually put on the valve cover gasket and then tighten down the valve cover. After that it is wiring in the coils, installing intake manifold, bolting catch can to the wall, install radiator, install intercooler pipes. I need a new crank sensor as somehow my ground wire got cut. So I should be getting that a new one in Tuesday or Wednesday and then starting up the car to make sure it all works and that there are no leaks.

That screen goes right where Fae said, I would just add that it goes "pointy" side down, and I think the open end actually fits into the hole on the under side of that two-bolt flange thing.
